David is a Clinical Psychologist who has over 10 years’ experience working with adults who are experiencing life changes or challenges including depression, anxiety, work-related stress and burnout, chronic health conditions, grief and loss, recovery from trauma, and relationship difficulties.
David has a special interest in working with fathers before the birth of their child and during the early years of parenting (0-3 years old). He also has expertise in supporting people with health conditions including chronic pain, chronic fatigue, sleep difficulties, and multiple sclerosis.
David’s work focusses on assisting people to get unstuck from emotional and behavioural difficulties and stressful life circumstances and move towards the things in life that really matter.
David regularly works with people who are:
– feeling like they have less motivation for day to day tasks, feeling run down and irritable;
– not enjoying something in life as much as they would like to;
– feeling stuck or trapped, or struggling within their relationships;
– experiencing a serious life change, loss of a job, physical injury, birth of a child, recent marriage or divorce, or a significant loss or career disappointment;
– noticing patterns in their life and who are seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and a greater ability to make positive changes in how they act and cope.
David’s therapeutic approach involves a medium to longer term journey where people can experience real and meaningful change. His style involves a range of psychological approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.
